Just this morning as I was in the shower, I thought about how the Lord provides time to help heal wounds. I was thinking of Laura (for those of you who don’t know, my cousin Laura died at the age of 6 of cancer) and how all of these years have gone by and I miss her (we were pretty close) but over time, things get a little easier. She will always hold a precious place in my heart. I loved her very very much…
And it amazes me, the same day I was thinking of Laura, I got this email from a dear friend, asking for prayers for this family. I’ll attach the email so you can see it. I opened it and literally sat here and cried. Little Lily… she’s gone thru so much. I think she’s 5 or 6 years old now, Shawna? She’s undergone many procedures and spent a lot of her life in the hospital. She most recently underwent a heart/double lung transplant (in November). Please pray for this family. Here is the email, told by her mom:
“So we have been told that Lily's body is undergoing the process of dying. We think her lungs are in chronic rejection and thus her lung is collapsing. She is on bipap today for as long as she can tolerate being on it. She is not a happy little girl, she wants to drink, but the fluid always goes straight to her lung. She is watching the Land Before Time on TV. I still think God can chose life for her, she just needs to know that she has to do extra work to clear these lungs. She wants bipap because she is scared to breathe without it, which shows a dependency on it. Please pray that they can help her get better again.”
Wow, it all came back to me, missing Laura, feels like it was yesterday now.
Ok, ok, now I’m all teary again – let’s move on and think happy thoughts. I’m leaving for 2 nights – ohh wait, that makes me sad too! I’m partially kidding, although this will be my first time away from little Miss Molly. I already miss her and she’s right here! I’m looking forward to some serious scrapbooking and it’ll be good to get away for a few days. Erk will have his hands full :)
Dad chipped right in this morning and picked up the boys so I could go have lunch with a dear ol’ friend. She’s not old, we’ve been friends for a long time :) Mol did pretty well at the restaurant, but was wanting to take a nap and apparently my hand motions and telling stories wasn’t helping her get too comfy on my chest! It was great to visit, Sara, always great to see you and Grace. Can’t wait to hear when new baby comes! Ohh what fun!
