It’s great to be back home but lemme tell ya, I sure enjoyed the weekend away! When I left home and pulled away on our street, I got all sad thinking “this is so hard, leaving my lil’ peanut and the boys…” but that lasted only a few miles and then I was rockin’ it out! Shawna and I had the best time. Got lots of scrapbooking done, ate great food, laughed until we cried at times, and talked the nights away. What a weekend!
Funny thing that happened, on Saturday afternoon just as I was feeling zoned out, like I could take a nap, kinda losing focus of what pages I was working on, I hear one of the main lady coordinators of the event get up to pick a name from a raffle. I tuned her out figuring I never win anything anyways. Wouldn’t ya know she called MY name? There were over 100 women there! I couldn’t believe it. I had no idea what I had even signed up for that I won :) So I go ask and she shows me an album that had all kinds of “school days” paper. Perfect, I was thinking of doing a school album for Jack. Well, a girl we met last year came up to me and congratulated me asking what I had won. I told her and low and behold, she wanted it SO bad, she had put $28 dollars in the raffle (filled in 28 squares) and here I had only $1 on it. Sheesh! She offered to put money on another raffle item and if she won, she could maybe swap hers with my new album. I felt bad, it wasn’t that big of a deal to me to have the album, and here she wanted it so bad. I couldn’t believe what came outta my mouth… “Can you get me a deal on the software program?” I blurted out. Who was I? Some wheelin’ dealin’ chick? But sure enough, she was able to get me 30% off of a software program Shawna and I had been talking about purchasing since we got there and heard about it. Later I felt bad that I had taken advantage of someone somehow, but then again, I guess I didn’t :) She got the album and I got the software I was going to buy anyways, at a cheaper price. I now have the ability to do all of my scrapbooking right here on my own computer! All different papers to chose from, background, shapes, stickers, shadowing, everything you can imagine right here. It totally looks 3 dimensional! Pretty sweet stuff… Cracked me up. And all was well here at home with Erk and the kids (a little too well, he had folded all the laundry, made a big supper for the kids, even got a nap in - that sorta thing makes me look bad! ;) so I was grinning from ear to ear.
When I got home, Erk mentioned that Mikie had been sleepwalking AGAIN. Three nights in a row the kid has been sleepwalking. The boys spent the night at Granny and Grampa’s house Friday night and I guess Mikie did it there too? What a nut! Erk used to do that when he was little too I guess. Huh… kinda scary.
Anywho, I have some prayer concerns that have been weighing on my heart, could you please pray for these folks:
*A friend who's family was shocked with a tragedy this weekend and they don’t really have answers.
*A friend thru a friend who’s father is in ICU after an ATV accident right after Christmas.
*Our pastor who fell on Christmas day and broke some ribs and some area of his back, that he will be feeling stronger everyday and simple tasks like breathing will become easier.
*A few friends who are due to have babies in the next few months – for the growth, development and health of the precious babies growing inside.
*For little Lily and her family as they are facing some even tougher times.
