I remember the wonderful job my mom did painting a Noah’s ark theme all over my bedroom walls (when I was real little), floor to ceiling and on the ceiling… and I was scared to death of those trees that crept up onto the ceiling. Felt like they were gonna get me!
I remember the first night I climbed into bed with Meg (due to the above). That was the start of many years of sharing a bedroom.
I remember hiding behind our babysitter when the “Thriller” video came on. Michael Jackson’s eyes turning yellow STILL freak me out!
I remember scratch and sniff stickers.
I remember having my first Sunkist pop on our old pontoon boat when I was our boys’ age.
I remember one day as a little girl walking out to the mailbox and looking up at the sky wondering, “who am I? where did I come from?”
I remember getting my ears pierced on my 6th birthday.
I remember waiting patiently for my Cabbage Patch Doll to arrive. Her name was Roberta.
I remember my dad reading “Twas the night before Christmas” to us every Christmas Eve before bed.

I remember one day in elementary school having a soggy pb&j sandwich that made me nearly puke.
I remember that birthday when I was a kid when all my wrapping paper had my name printed all over it in all different colors. That was the year I got Lemon Marage (Strawberry Shortcake doll).
I remember staying at the “Rocket Motel” in 1986.
I remember cutting open my pinky finger while carving a pumpkin and fainting at the sight of it. Then Dad taking me to the med center and then to the store for a Barbie cause I didn’t even cry.
I remember falling on the bar on Andy’s bike when I borrowed it once for fun. Umm, anyone who thinks it only hurts a boy to hit his crotch, you’re WRONG! :)
I remember my first bra!
I remember in 7th grade when I got up to give a speech in front of class, then my teacher embarrassing me in front of the entire class telling me my report wasn’t right and making me redo it and giving the presentation a week later.
I remember being in gym class doing bar-bell exercises when the girl next to me smashed my thumb with her weight (spraining my thumb).
I remember hitting the fence in our front yard at the old house when the beakin’ car wouldn’t stop stalling so I cranked the steering wheel and gunned it, not realizing the fence was so close :)
I remember being on a moped down south and hitting a dude on his motorcycle. My knee hit his bike and swelled up to the size of a grapefruit (it should be noted, I wasn’t driving, my cousin was).
I remember thinking “ohh, this doesn’t hurt at all” when I went ‘under the drill’ so to speak for my tattoo. Then I realized they hadn’t touched me yet! (HUGE MISTAKE, SO PERMANENT).
I remember my first night moving out. Getting settled into the apartment that Erk would move into with me a month later (when we got married). That was a lonely time, especially at night when I went to bed. I really missed Cassie (the dog).
I remember testifying in court for a car accident that wasn’t my fault.
I remember the accident like it was yesterday, the smell of the airbags… I remember prying the door open and seeing people just drive on by, running over pieces that used to be my car. That Probe was never the same after that…
I remember picking out Bean dog, thinking she was so cute and peaceful laying there on top of her sibling pups.

I remember when we moved into this house, I thought we’d “live here forever.”
I remember when the doctor told me they couldn’t find a heartbeat for Jack so I had to wait an entire week to find out if there really was a life growing inside. I remember praying fervently and the Lord giving me peace that week while waiting.
I remember what it felt like to drive “Big Dan” (our old truck).
I remember telling the nurse before Mikie was born that the knit hat she picked out wouldn’t be big enough. His head was going to be MUCH bigger than that!
I remember what it felt like when the ultrasound tech told us it was a girl!
