His Timing

I had to quickly share a really cool thing that happened to me this morning.

Let me back up – last night I was starting to do our dinner dishes and had a song in my head. “I’m the son of a third generation farmer… been married 10 years to the farmer’s daughter…” for those of you who also like country, you may know it, “International Harvester.” Anywho, I thought, I wonder if I turned on the radio right now if that song would be on. God, would you do that for me? So I turn on the radio and it’s on commercial. I’m listening intently to hear it and see, but it doesn’t come on. So I think to myself, “ahh, I can’t expect God to do this for me,” and on with the cleaning I go.

I had completely forgotten about it. Then this morning I’m folding clothes, packing up a picnic lunch for us as we head to the park to meet some friends and the news is on the radio. I decided to kick it over to some tunes and ya know what song was on? Yep, you guessed it. Right then and there I was hit with this huge smile and realization that God can and will do anything, but it’ll be in HIS timing. I learned that I can’t have things when I want them the minute I do, but in His timing. Pretty amazing lesson that song taught me!
