A wonderful day it’s been… ya know, birthdays anymore are just another day, aren’t they? I told Erk it felt like any other typical day to start out – being pulled in 14 directions by the kids and everything here at home… but then when we decided to head out for a birthday dinner rather than just staying put at home, I got that special feeling in my gut that I always remember feeling on my birthday. I think everyone should feel special on their birthday :)
We had a nice supper out and headed to Target real quick for a new purse and to check out the “Cars” for the boys. We grabbed a box fan for Granny and Grampa, as they called and their a/c died today! So we dropped off the fan at their house and I was mighty blessed with some fresh cut beautiful pink flowers and a nice card. From there we came home for cake and ice cream with Mom and Dad. I told the boys as they faded off to sleep with some chocolate ice cream still on their faces, “you made my day special.” What a gift, the best of all – being surrounded by those I love and who love me :) Ohh and I can’t forget the wonderful calls and emails I received today – so many well wishes and nice conversations! Meg, it was SO great to hear your voice!! Although Andy tells me I am now considered “mid thirties,” I really don’t feel that old today :)
