The Meeting

I’ve been a little out of pocket as of late! How we all doing? We’ve had a nice day around these parts. We headed out this morning to surprise Granny at work with some balloons and got to meet some new folks and say hello to some I haven’t seen in a few years at Granny’s workplace. That sure was fun! We even shared some peanut butter pie with her work team in the conference room.

Then we went to the mall to walk around and play in the play area. I really wanted to get my glasses fixed at the mall but as we steered around the corner with the stroller and both boys running ahead, that store is no longer there! CRAP! All this time I’ve waited to go and bam, the place that I got my glasses from is closed?! Ohh well, the kids played and we ate some lunch there and walked around a bit. On the way home, Jack and Molly fell asleep with Mikie in the middle (we are in the car since Erk had to pick up the trailer from the dealership today – it had a leak that needed fixin’) so there is scrunched Mikie with 2 kids leanin’ towards him :)

Ahh the meeting yesterday… thought I’d never tell ya, didn’t ya :) I can say, I think it went well on our end, although it didn’t end with a definite answer.

We had our ducks in a row to discuss and sat down and got right to it. At first they asked us for a copy of a list we had at a previous meeting and that left us a tad frazzled in saying “we don’t have that here today.” But that feeling of being frazzled quickly passed as we were able to bounce off each other and say all that we wanted to say on the 7 points of interest, followed up with documents to support all that we were talkin’ about. The Lord provided SO huge for us, He gave us the confidence and the words to speak. The woman who is the “hemmoriod” continued at her “game” but the other person in the meeting, the owner of the web place (who happens to be married to this woman) was listening and seemed in a bit of a pickle as to what to do. He ended up bringing the 2 web designers into the meeting and they walked us thru to make sure we were all on the same page as to what we expect the site to do. These 2 “geeks” should have been in the first meeting! These are things we told them we wanted in the first place. As the geeks wrapped up their part, the room fell silent. I chimed in and said, “as well and good as it was to hear the technical side of it, we are still left with the original purpose for the meeting which is we discussed these things in the beginning” and shouldn’t have to pay for them now. The owner then thought a minute and offered us $65 an hour on the work that needs to be done (which is HORSE crap). We ended up having supper with Shawna and Jay last night and talked about all different options and decided what we need to do for starters. So Shawna and I sat down last night and complied an email to the owner stating our “negotiation” at this point. When he comes back, if he is not willing to meet it, we have in mind where to go from here. Here’s to hoping we hear something SOON from them! ARGH! What a process!
