Hey! Happy 4th of July! We are home for a few hours to do some much needed laundry and Erk is mowing the lawn. We thought about having it mowed for us, but it sure looks great after being so long, having Erk cut it (and saving a buck). Bean was THRILLED to see us, but will be sad to see us go again. Her buddy will be back in a bit though, so it's short lived of being lonely :)
We have had a WONDERFUL week camping - 3 of the days Erk and Jay went into work from the campground, but they both took yesterday off and today of course was given to them. We look forward to heading to Mom and Dad's house in a bit to see some family and hang out, then back to the campground for fireworks and 2 more nights there.
We've had some interesting weather out there, some rain, storms, and even a power outage that is still going on. Some think, why do you need power when you are camping? Ok, if you don't want it, that's fine, but we like it :) Fortunately we can run lights off our trailer battery and our fridge is running on propane for now, but who's to say how long either will last. No plugs work, so that eliminates some of our other goods (like a hair dryer, night lights, fan, heater, etc). It's been nice all week to have a laundry room there at the campground but of course we can't use that now. So using our own (which our laundry tub is bigger anyways and doesn't cost $1.25 in quarters which I never seem to have) has been a-ok.
The biggest highlight was seeing Molly yesterday! She drove up to see us and totally took us by surprise. Our phones can't get a signal there so I didn't listen to her message until today saying she was going to stop by to see us. We pulled in after running to the store and she pulled in next to us. I got out and said, "is it YOU? is it REALLY YOU?"! We were thrilled, and loved her hanging with us all afternoon around the campfire, with the boys playing volleyball, holding lil' Mol. What a treat :) We are so glad you made it home safe and sound Mol!
Along with shutting Jack's finger in the trailer door, having his wonderful birthday celebration there with Nanny, Papa, Granny and Grampa; Erk slipping off the trailer steps at 3:30am while going out to get the smoker started for brisket, and the thousands of mosquitos, I think this camping trip will be one we all remember for a long, long time... Have a great weekend!
