BIG Velveeta

It’s September? Can you believe that? Man, to say it sounds crazy. Yep, it’s here though and so is the night before school starts! I know most people had this last night, but with Jack going M/W/F, we start tomorrow. We were all geeked this morning to sit on the front porch and wait for the bus to come get the neighbor boy. They had their video camera and camera out – and he’s in 3rd grade! But we know how it goes! When the “big velveeta” as Papa calls it, pulled up to pick up the neighbor, I had to swallow back the huge lump in my throat – realizing that will be the same bus that picks up my first/oldest child and takes him to SCHOOL. SCHOOL? Wow, how 5 years flies by. Sure, you can say, he’s been to school – preschool – not the same though! The bus? I have already prepared Jack for tears in Mommy’s eyes tomorrow – heck, if I was that way while writing Jack’s name in his shoes and backpack, what the beak will I be like tomorrow? I told him the tears are cause I’m so proud. I can’t believe the day has come…

We’ve had a nice and not so-too-terribly-busy past few days. It was nice having the holiday and Erk home. We stuck pretty close to home and took in the beautiful weather we had. Today sure was nice too, a bit on the HOT side for September! The kids and I headed to the park this afternoon then met Erk for dinner out and boy was it hot in the sun. I tried to sit in the shade, but with Mol wanting to be on the move, so was I.

I hope you have a nice relaxin’ evening – I’ll post pictures tomorrow of Jack’s first day of school. I have a meeting at Mikie’s school in the morning so that’ll be good for Mikie to be there and get in the mood for his school to start too! He starts Monday… Good night!
