Good morning! We just saw “Jack’s bus” pick up the neighbor boy. The boys are watching ‘Pinky Dinky Doo’ and Mol is pushing around her stroller Granny got her :) She woke up with a slight temp this morning – seems these last 2 days she hasn’t quite felt 100%. Part of me can’t help but blame the gym – we haven’t been there in SO long but went the other morning so I could run a bit. Felt good to run, but I started repeating in my head, “I don’t want to do this anymore, I don’t want to do this anymore!” so I didn’t go the furthest in the world. Anywho, the kids were in the kids zone and I know there are lots of goodies in the form of germs in there! Ohh well, like Erk said, it’ll build up her immune system!?
Meg emailed us the results of her recent MRI and I asked her if she’d mind me putting them on here as a prayer request. She didn’t mind at all, so if you could please pray for Meg, here is what her email said...
“So, I just got back from the doctor and got the MRI results of my lower spine. I’ve been having some numbness and weakness down my left leg again and the pain of course persists. The results are in…I am bummed but at the same time, not terribly shocked and this makes me feel a little better that I feel the pain that I do…
Okay, so, as you know I’ve had the 3 surgeries at the “L5/S1” level (very last disc level in the human spine, above the tailbone) – I have significant arthritis at that level as well as narrowing of the nerve roots likely from scar tissue that’s grown around the site.
At L4/L5 – the level immediately above – the disc is significantly protruding/bulging and I have narrowing of the nerve roots on both sides, the disc apparently looks totally abnormal. All other levels above that, in my lumbar spine, are normal, no bulging or narrowing…
So my fabulous doc wants me to do the following...
1. Continue with acupuncture (if I can make if affordable).
2. My doc has written me a referral to see a pain management specialist to see if there are other forms of pain therapy we can try so that I don’t have to take oxycontin or other narcotic pain meds for the rest of my life.
3. If I can’t ultimately find relief with the above 2 plans, he wants to refer me to a neural-surgeon to discuss my options there (LAST LAST LAST resort in my eyes)
So, there it is…the continuing saga of the spine!”
